2. What does AI stand for in online poker?

All-in

Online poker players use AI as an acronym for "all-in." To go all-in on a hand means to bet all your remaining chips or money on that hand.

If you go AI and win the hand, you can "double up." But if you lose, you're SOL.

How else do poker players refer to "going all-in?"

In addition to using AI to mean all-in, you may see poker players refer to going all-in as pushing, shoving, or jamming. For example, in poker forums, you may see one player tell another that they "would have jammed AI on that hand, immediately."

Example

I love going AI with Jack Six suited; it always seems to pan out

3. What does AI stand for?

As if

You might see "AI" in texts or online messages as another way to say "No way!" People may use it in a sentence or as a standalone statement.

The origins of "as if" date back to the LGBTQ community in the 1980s, but Cher Horowitz from the 1995 film Clueless popularized the phrase in the mainstream. People then turned the phrase into an acronym to make it easier to use in online messages and when texting on mobile phones.

You might use AI when asked if you want to watch KUWTK. Or, a friend may ask if you like a guy you despise and you reply with "AI! Yuck!"

Example

You should try out for the cheerleading team this year
AI! I don't even like any of the girls on the team
