What does bronx cheer mean?

A sports term that represents a booing or mocking crowd, more specifically, a sound made by blowing through closed lips with a protruding tongue.

The term is most often used in a baseball context to describe a disgruntled crowd. The exact origins of the term are unknown but it is believed to have originated at sporting events in the Bronx borough of New York City in the early 1900s. It can also be called "blowing a raspberry."
