Carries are the plural version of the carry player in MOBA games like League of Legends (LoL). The name comes from how the player "carries" his team, usually by inflicting the most damage against the enemy team.
Carries typically accumulate the most kills for their teams because they are the most capable of causing damage. Carries with a high damage output might be called "attack damage carries" while healers may be called "healer carries." Carries rely on other team members, like tanks, to take on the most damage from enemies so they are able to inflict their damage. They also rely on support for shields, heals, buffs, and cleanses.
