Cellar Dweller

Cellar dweller is a sports term that refers to a team that is constantly in last place. The term comes the location of a cellar below a building and the last place in a division or league's standings.

A cellar dweller is terrible year after year even with high draft picks and easier schedules. It is often the product of a bad owner, head coach, and/or general manager.

A term that refers to a person who mooches off another person or family and lives in their basement.

A cellar dweller is commonly between 18 and 30 years old and lacks ambition. He or she often lives in his or her parents' basement and eats their food without paying rent or utilities. Since a cellar dweller has such a sweet set-up, he or she will be hard to remove.
