DWB

1. What does DWB stand for?

Driving while black

A variation of the DWI acronym, which means "driving while intoxicated" but replaces "intoxicated" with "black."

The acronym stems from the experience of black people being pulled over and thought suspicious just because of the color of their skin. The term is mostly used in jest but can some times be used in anger.

Example

I got a DWB today coming home from work
That's what I drive a car with tinted windows

2. What does DWB mean?

Don't write back

When you don't want the recipient to respond to a message you sent, you can send them "DWB" at the end of your message. For example, you can send DWB when texting, messaging online, and emailing.

There are various reasons why you might not want a person to respond. You may be mad at the person and don't want to hear from them. For example, your bf may have cheated on you, and you tell him off in a text, ending it with, "DWB. Ever!"

Or, you might not think your message warrants a response. For example, you could use DWB when giving a heads-up about an event time change but don't want to get into a back-and-forth convo with the recipient.

Example

DWB from that email address. Use the other one
