SCNR

What does SCNR stand for?

Sorry, could not resist

After someone sends you a remark that is in poor taste, they may follow up with the acronym SCNR (sorry, could not resist). Sending this acronym means the person recognizes they shouldn't have sent their previous remark, but they could not help themselves. (Likely because they thought their remark was quite funny.)

Of course, if the person was truly sorry, they would not have sent you their questionable remark in the first place. It's up to you whether you want to let the person you're talking to off the hook, or whether you want to take them to task for sending something they shouldn't have.

Example

I know I know, that was mean - SCNR
