Transmute

In World of Warcraft (WoW), alchemists can xmute, or "transmute," some items into more valuable items. Specifically, alchemists can xmute some metals, gems, and elemental items.

You'll typically see players use xmute when describing an item they want to transmute, or when asking an alchemist to xmute an item. Each xmutation requires a Philosopher's Stone or Alchemist Stone, as well as a specific xmutation recipe.
