Meaning Upside of a player
3.5 (2 Votes)

Ceiling is a term that refers to a player's upside, otherwise known as his potential to perform well. It is commonly used in fantasy sports, such as football, baseball, or basketball.

To be successful in fantasy you must be able to accurately assess players' values as well as get lucky with sleepers and injuries. Accurately predicting the ceiling of players enables fantasy owners to draft intelligently and put the right players in the most impactful positions. If you are wrong about a player's ceiling and draft him too high it could ruin your whole team and season.

"His ceiling is probably around 5 TDs so he's not even worth a 3rd round spot."
