Cram

What does cram mean?

To study a lot right before an exam

Cram is when a person studies really hard right before an exam. It comes from the idea of cramming knowledge into a person's brain in order for them to remember it better when taking the test.

Cramming is a common behavior for procrastinators who wait until the last moment to study and/or brainiacs who are nervous about not getting an A+ on the test. It usually requires a person to stay up late at night, which is actually proven to make people perform worse on tests since they aren't rested for the exam.

Example

I'm turning my phone off for the night in order to cram for the midterm exam tomorrow
Dwight is not a fan of cramming for an exam
