DST

What does DST stand for?

Daylight Saving Time

DST is an acronym for daylight saving time, which signifies that clocks are advanced 1 hour ahead during the spring and summer time. It is also known as the time when clocks "spring ahead" (because it begins in the spring) and we lose an hour of sleep.

DST is used throughout most of the U.S. and scattered countries around the world. Clocks are set back 1 hour after DST ends in the fall. This is also known as "falling back" an hour because it ends in the fall and we gain an hour of sleep.

Example

"Is tomorrow the beginning of DST?
I hope not, I need my sleep!"
