E

Meaning

Errors

An abbreviation for the baseball statistic used to keep track of errors made by a player or team.

An error is attributed to a player based on the judgment of the game's official scorer. If the player appears to have misplayed a ball in a way that allows a batter or baserunner to advance one or more bases or allows an at bat to continue when the batter should be out. An error does not count as a hit and if a baserunner scores a run because of an error, the run is considered unearned instead of earned.

Example

"Another E by Ramirez tonight makes him the worst fielding 3B."
