FC

What does FC mean in messages?

Fingers crossed

Do you want to win the lottery? If you keep your FC (fingers crossed), it might happen.

People use FC in messages to refer to the superstition of crossing fingers to generate good luck. For example, you might text your bestie about your nervousness about getting good concert seats, and she replies with, "FC that we get in line first!"

FC can be confusing since crossing fingers also has an alternative meaning where people do it to communicate they don't really mean what they are saying (similar to "/s" for sarcasm). For example, you might joke with your friend about sitting next to someone you don't like, "really hoping they place me next to ben. fc."

Example

keep your fc that dad and mom take us out for ice cream tonight!
yassss!
