HH

1. What does HH stand for?

Holding hands

When sent by your SO or someone else who's sweet on you, HH stands for "holding hands." Because you can't (yet) physically hold hands over the Internet, couples use HH to pretend to hold hands via chat or text message.

If someone sends you HH and you want to acknowledge that you are (virtually) holding hands, you should send HH back. HH is sometimes also written as <HH>.

Example

"I am imagining that you and I are HH right now. =)"

2. What does HH stand for?

Ha-ha

HH stands for "ha-ha." You can respond with HH when someone says something funny or, as a pro move, use HH to sarcastically point out that something is not funny.

Usually, however, you should respond with haha instead of HH, to ensure the person you're chatting with catches your meaning. If they've said something truly hilarious, you may want to respond with LOL, LMAO, or ROFL instead of HH, to show how tickled you are.

Example

"HH, u think u r so funny..."

HH conveys a slight, sensible chuckle
