Juggalo is a term for a person who is a passionate fan of Insane Clown Posse (ICP), a hip hop group. It originated in 1994 at a live ICP show and increased in popularity in the late 1990s as the group's fandom increased.
The juggalo fanbase typically wears clown face paint and they consider each other family and hold an annual festival called "Gathering of the Juggalos", or "The Gathering", for short. The popularity of the term even led ICP to write a song called "What is a Juggalo?" The fandom usually consists of white males but there are some female juggalos, which are usually referred to as "juggalettes."
