LARP is an acronym that stands for live action role-playing and is a variation of the RPG genre. It is a real-life activity where people dress up in costumes and play the part of fictitious or fantasy characters together.

LARP or larping consists of various people who gather in an environment that resembles the world of their characters to act out a fantasy storyline. Each person dresses up in a costume to represent his or her character and the group performs much like an improv class would. Groups may range from 3 or 4 people to hundreds or even thousands and storylines may take hours or days to play out.
