LGBTQA is an acronym that stands for "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Asexual, and/or Ally." It is typically used to refer to the community of individuals that don't subscribe to heteronormativity.

The LGBTQA acronym comes from the LGBT and LGBTQ acronyms but is more inclusive because it includes Asexual and/or Ally. However, it was replaced by the more inclusive LGBTTQQIAAP acronym. LGBTQA is most often seen during the month of June during Pride month.

Breakdown of LGBTQA:

  • Lesbian - A homosexual woman.
  • Gay - A homosexual person.
  • Bisexual - A person attracted to both males and females.
  • Transgender - A person who identifies with a gender identity different from his or her sex.
