What does line drive mean?

Hard hit baseball in the air

A term that describes a hard hit baseball that has a flight path that looks like a straight line; opposite of a "bloop" or a "Texas Leaguer" because it can only be a result of a well hit ball; can result in a hit, an error, or an out if caught before it hits the ground.
