Mic drop is a way to punctuate a bold statement much like "The End" does at the end of a movie. It can be said out loud, mimed, or performed with an actual microphone.
The term is often used when stating some sort of revelation or controversial idea. When said IRL it is commonly accompanied by the reenactment of dropping a microphone. The term comes from when an entertainer, such as a musician or comedian, gives a great performance and drops the microphone because he doesn't need to add anything else.
