MLBPA is an acronym that stands for "Major League Baseball Players Association," which is the collective bargaining representative for all MLB players. It represents all players on the 40-man rosters of the 30 MLB teams.

The MLBPA was formed in 1956 by players but wasn't formally recognized until 1966. It consists of a labor union, a Players Choice Group Licensing Program, and a Players Trust charitable foundation. Any player, coach, manager, or athletic trainer who has held a contract with an MLB team is eligible for MLBPA membership.
