On The Button

What does on the button mean?

Hard hit ball

A sports term often used in baseball to describe a hard hit ball; similar to the "on the screws" phrase; does not necessarily mean a home run because a hard hit ball can be hit directly at a fielder for an out.

Example

"Stanton hits it on the button for a stand-up double."
