Outta Pocket

What does outta pocket mean?

Disreputable

Outta pocket is when a person is acting out of line or in a way that disrespects himself or someone else. It is often used to describe someone cheating on his or her partner.

The phrase has misogynistic origins as it was primarily used to describe when women would act out of the control of their pimp handler. It eventually grew in usage due to the rap scene in the 2000s and social media in the 2010s.

Nowadays, you will most often see it on Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok when people are talking about how someone is acting crazy (cheating on a bf or saying something really stupid or cold) or making an ugly fashion choice. People may also use it as an endearing description of someone who does something kinda crazy but they still respect him for his courage to do it.

Example

That boy was acting outta pocket yesterday and he almost got himself killed for it
