Run and gun

RNG is a type of video game gameplay that features a lot of movement on foot (running and jumping) and shooting. This gameplay may appear in first-person shooter (FPS), side-scrolling, and vertical-scrolling video games.

RNG games are a subgenre of shooter video games where the primary objective is to defeat enemies with the firearms available in the game. Run and gun, or "run 'n' gun," games may also be called "shoot 'em up" games because of the emphasis on shooting to kill.

Much of the gameplay in RNG involves running, but you can also maneuver your character by jumping, rolling, and crouching to avoid being hit by enemy fire. At the same time, you are attempting to put yourself in a position to shoot and kill enemies.
