An acronym used to communicate that something is too good to be true or real.
It is commonly utilized to let down a person that whatever he or she has bought into cannot be as good as he or she thinks. Often financial transactions, such as car deals and investment opportunities, fall under the category of "too good to be true" since scammers try to make money off of suckers. The acronym may also be used to describe a romantic interest that seems too perfect and must be hiding something.
