Weak tea means "boring gossip" or "lame secret." It is typically used in response to hearing an underwhelming secret or gossip.
The phrase comes from "Spill the tea," which is a variation of the "Spill the T" phrase where the "T" stands for "truth." The term was introduced by drag queen Lady Chablis in the 1994 book "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil." Weak tea was popular in drag queen culture but didn't become popular in mainstream culture until the other variations were used more in 2017 and 2018.
