ZVP

What does ZvP stand for in StarCraft 2?

Zerg versus Protoss

StarCraft 2 (SC2) players use ZvP to stand for Zerg versus Protoss. This acronym describes a match in which a Zerg player faces off against a Protoss player.

In player-versus-player matches, SC2 players pick from one of the game's three races and attempt to defeat their opponent. The Zerg are a race of xenomorphic mutants; the Protoss are a technologically advanced, psionic race.

In the ZvP matchup, the Zerg player typically attempts to overwhelm the Protoss player in the mid game. If the Zerg player does not disrupt the Protoss player before the late game, the Protoss player will likely win the match (via a Deathball or superior air units).
