|Meaning||Golf score of 8|
Snowman is a score of 8 on a golf hole. The term comes from the resemblance of the number 8 to the shape of a snowman.
To get a "snowman" in golf is a terrible score as most holes have a par of 3 or 4. Usually a snowman is achieved when your drive from a tee goes way off course, you get stuck in sand trap, you hit into the water, or your putting short game is terrible.
"Wow, that snowman on 12 really killed you since you lost by 2 strokes."
