Thrift Flip

What is a thrift flip?

Reselling items you bought at a thrift store

Thrift flipping is the act of sprucing up and reselling items you bought at a thrift store. For example, some thrift flippers fix up thrifted clothing and then sell those pieces online for a profit.

Entrepreneurial thrifters sometimes thrift flip as a side hustle, to earn a bit of extra income. These thrift flippers may show off their finds (and their work to fix them up) on TikTok, Instagram, and other social media platforms - as promotion for their online store.

In some cases, thrifters who plan to fix up or repurpose a thrifted item but not resell it may describe that item as a thrift flip. These thrifters are "flipping" the refreshed item into their own household.
