Those discussing Americans' nebulous, Constitution-given right to bear arms use 2A as shorthand for Second Amendment. The Second Amendment is part of the Bill of Rights, which was the original set of ten amendments added to the U.S. Constitution.
2A (or at least the version of it passed by Congress in 1791) reads as follows:
"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
Because 2A contains a bevy of unspecific, interconnected clauses, Constitutional scholars, Supreme Court justices, and average Americans have debated its exact scope and meaning throughout the country's history. These days, you're most likely to see people refer to the Second Amendment as 2A when discussing American gun violence and gun ownership on social media and forums.
